Submission Guidelines

Please submit between three and five poems at a time. Do not send attachments. Copy and paste your submission into the body of an email. I won't open attachments.

Email submissions only. The PO box is for payments to "remark." ONLY.

Please say something. Unsure of my name? Unsure of how to address me? Hello works. I initially said that cover letters didn't matter. I've changed my mind. They do. Say something. Don't just send me three poems without your name on them. It doesn't have to be formal...a casual note telling me what you're submitting, something about yourself and five or six publishing credits is enough. Please include your mailing address so I can get you your contributors copy if I accept your work.

Please don't use odd, giant-sized fonts. Or teeny, tiny ones, either. 10 or 12 point is fine. Use Times New Roman or Arial.

Please type Poetry Submission into the subject line.

Please don't ask me if I pay. I wish I could. I can't. I'm working on a shoestring here. I make no money doing this. It's a labor of love. At this point you get one copy of the issue you appear in.

I like free verse. I rarely take poems that rhyme. It's a good idea to read the online issues. Those were not edited by me but I'm looking for the same kind of poems you'll find there. There isn't any excuse for not knowing...it's right there, online, for free!

Please be polite. I've pretty much had it with rudeness. I've said this once before, I have two teenaged daughters, if I want attitude all I have to do is look across the room. I do not have time for attitude and I do not want attitude.

Last thing, please, please do not harass me over rejections. If I reject your poetry, it doesn't mean it's bad, it doesn't mean you're bad, it just means it didn't work for me. Get over it, move on and submit it somewhere else.
